Appointment

The first step towards a beautiful, healthy smile is to schedule an appointment.

What to expect at the exam and consultation – At the hour-long new patient exam you will work closely with our Treatment Coordinator and Dr. Amanda. Pictures and an x-ray will be taken so Dr. Amanda can easily point out any areas of concern. When scheduling your exam, you can provide us with your insurance information, and we will gladly inform you of your orthodontic benefits during the consultation.

How to schedule appointments and how often they occur – Our front desk will happily facilitate setting up each appointment, working hard to coordinate appointments with your busy schedules. Appointments are generally every 6-8 weeks but may vary depending on the treatment or appliances. A gentle reminder that emergency appointments and appointments to place or remove braces are typically midmorning (9am-12pm) so that Dr. Amanda can accommodate the greatest number of patients during the before and after-school hours.

What happens with a pokey wire or popped bracket – True orthodontic emergencies are rare, but when they occur, we are available to help you. As a general rule, you should call our office when you experience pain or have an appliance problem you can’t take care of yourself. We will do our best to make you comfortable as soon as possible. Repairing broken appliances will likely require a daytime appointment to ensure you receive one-on-one care with Dr. Amanda and one of her assistants. Should it be necessary, we can always schedule an appointment to make sure you are comfortable and then have you back at your convenience for that daytime repair appointment.

Patient Forms

If you are new to our office, you are welcome to visit our Patient Forms page to download the new patient paperwork that will need to be filled out when you arrive for your consultation. Please contact our office if you have any questions.

Payment Options

We accept the following forms of payment: Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover.

Payment for services is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made with our financial coordinator.

All insurance deductibles must be paid at time of service. If we have not received an exact estimate of your portion due from your insurance company, we will provide a general estimate of that portion, with the understanding that your insurance may pay less than estimated and the remaining balance will be due by you.

Checks that are returned to our office from your financial institution are subject to a $35.00 returned check fee.

Dental Insurance

We are currently a preferred provider for the following insurance plans: Delta Dental, Anthem/Blue Cross, and United Concordia. We are continually evaluating our insurance involvement to better serve our patients. In most instances, you will receive your orthodontic insurance benefit even if we are not an in-network provider.

Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. We are not a party to that contract. Please be aware that some, and perhaps all, of the services may be non-covered services and not considered reasonable and customary under the terms of your insurance policy. Our practice is committed to providing the best treatment for our patients at a fair fee. It is your responsibility to thoroughly understand the coverage, exceptions, and maximums of your plan.
