What you can’t eat

It’s no secret that there are some foods you can’t eat while you have braces. Some foods are more difficult to eat and can break off brackets, resulting in another orthodontist visit. To avoid this inconvenience, stay away from:

  • Chewing gum

  • Hard/chewy candy
  • Hard crackers

What you should eat

While you can still eat most foods while you have braces, there are a couple that might stand out. Many times during your braces journey you will have tightenings that might make your mouth a little sore. This can make it difficult to eat hard foods. Some soft foods that are best to stay stocked up on during your time with braces are:
